Briscoe and Green investigate a shooting rampage in Central Park where all 15 of the victims were female college students. Using the serial number of the gun they've recovered they trace the owner, Dennis Trope, but when the judge dismisses most of their evidence, Jack McCoy has few options open to him. When he learns that the gun could be turned into an automatic weapon using an inexpensive kit you can buy at any gun show, he decides to go after the manufacturer. Despite evidence that the gun manufacturer knew that most of their sales were because of the ease of conversion, it's obvious McCoy is going to have a hard time getting a conviction.

Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate the shooting death of a young fast food delivery man, Matthew Wheeler. The investigation reveals that someone phoned several fast food outlets late that night requesting deliveries to what is now a boarded up store. Only one restaurant agreed to the delivery. From the information they've been able to gather two young men, eventually identified as Joey Timon and Dale Kershaw, had talked about randomly shooting anyone just for the thrill of it. They are eventually arrested but the DA's office has a dilemma - which one of them actually pulled the trigger.

Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate the death of a recently adopted baby who the parents say fell out of her crib. When the police search an apartment, they find another child, their 7 year old Nicholas Waring who, they subsequently find, was severely abused before he was adopted by his current parents but is now a sociopath. Recently transferred ADA Abbie Carmichael takes charge of the case intent on finding what exactly happened. It all leads to a Russian baby broker who was finding homes for sick children and an American couple who got rid of the baby as soon as they found out how ill she was.
Law & Order Season 7
Detectives Briscoe and Curtis investigate the murder of Maureen Rankin who is found on a deserted tract of land. She died from a blow to the head though death was not instantaneous. The police believe she was the victim of a carjacking. They track the car and arrest the carjacker but a key piece of evidence is ruled inadmissible and his new assistant, Jamie Ross, is all for transferring the case to Federal jurisdiction when the death penalty will apply. The DA's office is batting zero after the judge in the case rules a second key piece of evidence inadmissible. It's left to McCoy to start playing hardball with the carjacker's fiancée if they want to have any hope of getting a conviction.

Det. Lenny Briscoe and his new partner Det. Ray Curtis investigate the abduction and murder of12 year-old Jodie Gaines. She was dropped off by her school bus less than a block from her after school piano lesson. She never showed up. They get a lead from an ATM camera where they find a white van parked on the street where walked by. It leads to the arrest of Nick Capetti who is charged with murder. At his arraignment however the dead girl's mother, Karen Gaines, shoots him dead. She gets a sympathetic judge and a lenient sentence leading DA McCoy to have the case re-investigated. The new suspect in the case is Karen Gaines herself.

Law & Order Season 4
Rick Mason is the host of a trashy tabloid TV show, the kind that likes to create confrontations among guests, all in the hopes of getting ever better ratings. For his latest program, the guests are a young boy and his mother and the psychiatrist who molested him three years before but has now been released from prison. The show has barely started when the boy's estranged father bursts onto the stage and shoots the psychiatrist, killing him. Detectives Briscoe and Logan seem to have an pretty straightforward case but soon begin to suspect that Mason may have set up the confrontation and was well aware that such a confrontation could be violent. ADA Stone is keen to prosecute Mason but it will be difficult to overcome Mason's popularity and to convince a jury of his guilt.
Law & Order Season 3
Detectives Cerreta and Logan investigate murder of professional photographer Julian Decker who is found with a pair of scissors in his back. The forensic evidence indicates he had sex not long before being killed and they initially focus on some of the many women he used as models. Decker's accountant admits to the police that hew supplemented his income as a photographer by pimping for some of his models. DNA evidence says there's an 80% probability that Angela Brandt, a divorced mom with a teenage daughter, is the woman he had sex with. When the judge throws out the DNA evidence they try to find another way to link her to the murder. They soon realize they've arrested the wrong woman.
Law & Order Season 2
The DA's office has a major grand jury investigation underway on corruption and theft in the construction industry. The night before Det. Sgt. Max Greevy is to testify, he is gunned down at home in his driveway. Needless to say, Logan is upset and partnered with Det. Phil Cerreta, looks for what they and the DA's office believe must have been a leak from a member of the grand jury. When it turns out the jury foreman may have told his son of Greevy's upcoming testimony, Logan tracks him down and gets him to confess at gunpoint. There seems to be little doubt that the man is the one who killed Greevy but Logan's zealousness in getting the confession may result in the case being thrown out of court.

Detectives Max Greevy and Mike Logan investigate the death of teenager Suzanne Morton in a hospital emergency room after her father files a complaint saying she was murdered there. She had gone to the hospital to have her prescription for antibiotics refilled and was dead a few hours later. All of the doctor's in the case are tight-lipped about what happened but when the detectives find that part of the girl's chart was erased with white-out, they come to believe that someone is covering up. Their investigation leads them to the hospital's Chief of Medicine, Dr. Edward Auster, an eminent cardiologist who had been drinking heavily at a reception just before going into the ER. The challenge for Executive ADA Stone is to mount a case against someone with his sterling reputation and prove that he has a problem with alcohol.
